Dates on a calendar. Anniversaries. Birthdays. Holidays. Mother’s day. Father’s day.
These are days of celebrations, laughter and good times.
These are times to honor those who we love. Remember milestones. Rejoice in all the good things God had done in our lives.
Then something happens.
An accident. A diagnosis. Death.
Then everything changes.
These same dates can cause misery. Pain. Tears. Grief.
But we need to remember: This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
Be gentle on yourself. Don’t push yourself. Take it one moment at a time. One breathe at a time. You can do this.
Remember the good things God has done that have brought you through your circumstances.
Remember the good times. Just because something has changed does not mean your memories have. Memories are a gift that no one can take away from you. Ponder them.
Then make new memories. Move forward. Trust.
